The Circulation Supervisorprovides advanced level reference service using traditional and electronic resources; ensures thatcirculation policies and procedures are implemented and that the automated circulation system isoperating properly; reports usage trends to management; serves as a regional expert on the circulationmodule; participates in the provincial circulation services committee; plays a key role in deliveringcirculation training; supervises shipping and receiving; oversees collection maintenance includingshelving, shelf reading, and basic mending; creates special displays; and ensures that cataloguing oronline catalogue problems are reported.The Circulation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, training, scheduling, and evaluation ofcirculation staff and participates in the hiring of circulation staff.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma supplemented by completion of one (1) yearof relevant post-secondary courses/training and at least five (5) years of relevant experience, including atleast one year of supervision; OR completion of a formal library/ information study program of at leasttwo years and four (4) years of relevant experience, including at least one year of supervision; OR at leastsix (6) years experience working in a library setting, including at least one year of supervision.Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
