Job Description

This position is assigned to both junior and senior Members.Summary: Serves customers in a friendly, helpful manner while maintaining Wendys standards.Qualifications:

  • Have completed the initial employee training program.
  • Be attentive, quick and accurate.
  • Have menu and product packing knowledge.
  • Capable of multi-tasking.
  • Have a positive Team-player attitude.
Our Crew Members are cross-trained to be able to perform all positions within our restaurants.Order Taker / Dining room
  • Greet Guests
  • Accurately fill out Guests check
  • Upsell (ie: Biggie Size)
  • Accepting payment for orders
  • Thanking Guest
  • Assist Guests with order to table service if required
  • Cleaning of dining room throughout shift (ie: tables, chairs, floors, glass in windows / doors. Washrooms)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and fullness of condiment stand area
  • Emptying garbage in dining area
  • Balance cash and float at the end of shift.
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other duties as required.
Fries / Nuggets
  • Follow monitor to prepare Guests order (also could be headset system for drive thru)
  • Portion / serve fries / nuggets to both service lines
  • Retrieving fries from freezer as required
  • Cook fries - includes using hands to pick up basket and drain
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as requested
Sandwiches
  • Follow monitor to prepare Guests order (also could be headset system for drive thru)
  • Must wear disposable gloves while working in sandwich station
  • Retrieve buns from warmer
  • Retrieve condiment pans from below station in order to replenish station as required
  • Prepare sandwiches as requested by Guest
  • Prepare baked potatoes as requested by Guest
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as requested
Drinks
  • Follow monitor to prepare Guests order (also could be headset system for drive thru)
  • Portion and serve cold drinks
  • Prepare and serve all hot beverages
  • Portion and serve chili / frosties
  • Replenish ice bins throughout shift
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as requested
Register
  • Greet Guest
  • Take guests order, offer upsize and key into register (may also be over headset system in drive thru) following key steps
  • Complete transaction with processing payment
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as requested
Openers - our Openers have a key position in ensuring the site is ready for the day. This can include the following:
  • Lettuce preparation
  • Slice tomatoes
  • Set-up sandwich station
  • Salad preparation
  • Prepare cheese sauce and poutine sauce
  • Pull products from freezer and / or walk-in cooler
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as requested
Closers - our closers also have a key position in ensuring the restaurant is clean / stocked ready for the following day
  • Grill must be cleaned thoroughly
  • Service line equipment to be completely wiped down
  • All floors swept / scrubbed with a deck brush
  • Empty and remove all trash
  • Move all tables / chairs (if applicable) to clean floors in dining room
  • Clean washrooms
  • Spot clean glass on windows and doors
  • Cleaning of Frosty machine
  • Dishes washed, rinsed and sanitized and stored in appropriate location
  • Cleaning as required
  • Other tasks as required
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires long periods of standing. As well, this position requires a significant amount of bending and turning.
  • Lifting and reaching requirements are listed below:
  • Reaching across up to 4 feet.
- Bending and stretching - approximately 2 feet.- Stocking - must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
  • When standing must be able to bend and reach items, which involves an approximate 1 foot reach.
  • Must be comfortable using a step-ladder.
  • Must be able to use both hands for certain tasks.
Food and Safety:
  • Conducts daily cleaning functions such as washing surfaces, floors, equipment and maintaining the tidiness of the store.
  • Must be able to reach into the 3-Compartment dish sink. The depth of each sink is approximately 3 feet.
  • Must be able to reach the drying shelf (if applicable) over the 3-Compartment dish sink. The approximate reach to the shelf is 3 feet.
  • Follows weekly cleaning schedule such as dismantling, cleaning and reassembling equipment, and cleaning light fixtures to ensure a clean store.
  • Uses the principles of sanitation (Wash, Rinse, and Sanitize) daily, throughout shift.
  • Rotates product using the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the production sheets to track and throw appropriate products if necessary.
Health and Safety:
  • Complies with all health and safety requirements such as lifting, knife safety, wet floor procedures and chemical procedures.
  • Must be able to lift supplies down from shelves which are at different heights, depending on the layout of the store and provincial/state regulations.
  • Reports any unsafe equipment immediately to management.
Organization of Area:
  • Organizes and maintains all paper supplies.
  • Organizes and maintains cleanliness of workstation.
  • Informs store manager of supplies required.
  • Checks the storage, rotation and freshness of all food items.
  • Organizes day to ensure that daily deadlines are met for peak sales times.
