Service New BrunswickDeskside Support TechnicianOpen CompetitionR85-2021/22-329Pay Band 2Acadian PeninsulaService New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Technology Services Division as a Deskside Support Technician in the Acadian Peninsula.As a member of the Client Services team, you will be responsible to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Determining the urgency, prioritizing and scheduling problems/tasks or escalating where necessaryRecording, tracking and documenting the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken through to final resolutionPerforming hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applicationsPerforming preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripheralsTesting fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolvedPlease ensure that you indicate the competition number R85-2021/22-329 when applying.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a two (2) year program at the community college level in computer technology or in a relevant discipline.Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
