Additional benefits include:Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan (eligible immediately upon hire for part-time & full-time staff) including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramRRSP program (5% employer matching)Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insuranceFlexible work arrangement available (hybrid model)Free onsite parkingEmployee discounts on select apparel, fitness, and retail partners through our Perks ProgramAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiativesRecognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the OpportunityWorks with Learning and Development Team and operational leaders to develop and foster relationships with high schools, post secondary institutions, private career colleges and community partners providing relevant education programsParticipates on Professional Advisory Committees as requestedRepresents Shannex at networking eventsActs as the primary point of contact for Education Program Managers/Coordinators and studentsMaintains ongoing communication with education partners and operational leadersCoordinates student placements and job exposure opportunitiesMaintains an accurate database to account for student enrolment and progress by programWorks closely with Operational Leaders to evaluate programs and outcomesManages and coordinates affiliation and other agreements (such as Return in Service Agreements)Administers the organization’s policy related to financial support for upskilling and reskillingAbout YouIn addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:A College diploma or degree in related field;3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the health care industry or educational institution within program coordination or delivery;A background in adult educationKnowledge of a variety of post secondary programs and program requirements (i.e., PCA, PSW, LPN, RN or Culinary programs)Exceptional organizational and communication skills;Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite products;Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;Bilingualism in English and French preferredAbout UsIt all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
