We continue to grow in our industry by ensuring all employees possess the following core competencies: customer focused, team player, engaged, ethical, strong communication skills, and works safely.Job PurposeReporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation and servicing of Alpha products, primarily associated with fiber optic and network equipment at customer locations. Ensuring customer satisfaction with our products and services will be critical to the revenue growth of the company.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Installing Fiber Optic Taps at Poles
• Testing Taps with Power meter for Light Levels, OTDR for troubleshooting
• Adhere to Construction Standards
• Able to Operate Bucket Truck
• Ability to handle 28ft and 32ft Ladders

Qualifications

• Diploma of Technology or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering
• Experience working in the field doing installation, maintenance and repair is required
• 1- 2 years’ experience in the CATV, telecommunications and/or power industries highly desirable.
• Fiber optic and coaxial experience desirable
• Red Seal Construction and Maintenance Electrician is an asset
• Ability to work at heights over 30ft
• Ability to use fiber test equipment, OTDR, Spectrum Analyzer, Light Identifier, Power Source, etc.
• Ability to lift equipment/ladders up to 75lbs (assisted)
• Experience in the installation and maintenance of three phase power equipment.
• Experience in the installation of DC power equipment and batteries.
• Excellent English speaking/communication skills required (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Valid Driver’s License is require
