Job Description

Reporting to: General ManagerFour Points by Sheraton Moncton, part of DP Murphy Inc, is looking for a full-time Housekeeping Manager to join our award-winning team.   • Responsible for the management and operation of the housekeeping and laundry departments
  • Provide leadership, support, guidance, and a positive attitude to ensure total guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the hotel guestrooms and public areas are maintained in top form in accordance with brand standards, values, and health & safety regulations.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, supervising, mentoring, and disciplining of all housekeeping and laundry staff to maintain the desired level of service and keeping with service standards.
  • Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping and laundry departments.
  • Communicate effectively with the front office and maintenance teams
  • Communicate with the maintenance department on any deficiencies and work orders.
  • Create housekeeping department plans and procedures as required.
  • Implement and make sure that all employees are following current safety standards for chemicals, procedures, and guest room cleaning.
  • Hold monthly housekeeping team meetings.
  • Actively participate in Department Head Meetings
  • Responsible for housekeeping and laundry supplies inventory.
  • Maintain relationships with various suppliers and contractors for supplies and equipment
  • Manage annual spending budgets, including labor control
  • Actively participate in the Health and Safety committee and enforce accurate procedures.
  • Follow Four Points Brand Standards
  • Responsible for housekeeping uniform inventory and ordering.
  • Consistently display a professional image
  • Prepare the daily “boards” for the housekeepers
  • Assist in cleaning rooms and/or public areas when required.
  • Ensure proper training and orientation is completed for all new hires
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Self-motivated with proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent intrapersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Friendly and enthusiastic
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to train, motivate, and lead within teams
  • Minimum 2 years previous supervisory experience
  • Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel setting
  • Criminal Background Required
