At Cox & Palmer, our support staff are an essential part of our team effort to deliver outstanding service to our clients.Cox & Palmer provides a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits:100% Employer paid premiums for individual or family health and dental benefits;Pension with matching employer contribution and TFSA program;Employee assistance program as well as an Annual Health & Wellness allowance;“Casual Dress†policy;A positive and fun work environment where we value inclusion, diversity and mutual respect; andVacation allowance as well as additional personal days.RESPONSIBILITIESReview, organize and analyze documents, draft summary reports, pleadings, motions, affidavit of documents and chronologies;Evidence and electronic document management, including organizing, analyzing and reviewing large volumes of records;Processing, quality assurance and database management through a litigation software application on complex litigation matters;Analyze and edit load files, as required, for import to litigation support application; andPreparation of Affidavits of Documents as well as cross reference documents for discovery, e-discovery and/or trial exhibits.QUALIFICATIONSBilingualism (English and French) considered a strong asset;The ability to review pleadings and other documents, communicate effectively with legal and non-legal staff, filter reports for distribution;Experience in legal research, summarizing documents and strong legal analysis and critical thinking skills;Strong computer skills (proficient knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel);Experience in legal research, summarizing documents and analysis of data;Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information;Self-starter with proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;Technological proficiency, including programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and time tracking software;Significant e-Discovery experience and adherence to best practice with advanced skill set in relativity or other litigation support applications (currently using Eclipse); andWorking knowledge of NB Rules of Court.This position will remain posted until successfully filled.
