Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedSummary:As an industry leader, MacDonald Paving and Construction takes pride in our service-oriented construction operations and strive for excellence in all areas. We are looking for an enthusiastic Logistics Coordinator who is willing to take challenges head on, embrace them, and learn something new every day. You will work in alignment with The Miller Group’s Vision, Mission and Values in “Building Greatness”.As a Logistics Coordinator, You Will:

  • Coordinate the daily trucking and hauling of product from quarries and asphalt plants with internal and external trucks and drivers for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor efficiency of trucking schedule, manage ELD daily logs, and rotate drivers appropriately to manage driving hours
  • Ensure pre-inspection sheets and timecards are completed daily
  • Coordinate service and repair appointments with shop staff
  • Coordinate trucking rates as per rates established in bids
  • Coordinate, along with dispatch, the equipment float schedules
  • Determine trucking priorities and coordinate trucking activities in partnership with other project staff
  • Maintain accurate cost records on work performed and materials, correctly code driver time, and equipment rates to the correct job codes.
  • Implement Miller’s Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite and adhere to safety and record keeping requirements
  • Ensure senior management is informed about potential scheduling issues etc. in a timely manner and assist in resolving such issues
What Youll Bring:
  • 5 years of construction industry experience with 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Ability to effectively use technology and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with JD Edwards and HeavyJob, considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 drivers licence required; experience as a Class 3 or Class 1 driver considered an asset
  • Ability to lead staff and evaluate performance, considered an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and adherence to municipal and provincial regulations and practices
  • Willingness to work weekends and evening shifts as project schedules demands
