Job Description

Maritime Hydraulic is a team focused company which manufacturers large scale hydraulic systems for the oil and gas and related industries. Maritime Hydraulic is committed to providing the best service and products in the industry as well as creating a team that our customers have come to rely on.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Material Handler’s main responsibilities include the following duties:· Controlling all inventory of raw material/parts received for project work.· Working with our Inventory system to ensure all material, in process parts and finished goods are properly tracked and stat us is accurate.· Working closely with the Receiver to ensure material/parts received are acceptable and promptly moved into storage or to the appropriate workstation.· Ensuring all storage areas are properly organized and controlling the movement of parts/material within the storage area.· Issuing of all material to the shop for project work in a timely manner to maintain an effective flow of work through the shop.· Coordinating with the Shop Managers to ensure the production schedule and daily material requirements are kept in sync.· Transferring all required markings for cut pieces of material prior to issuing to the shop floor.· Ensuring all left over raw material is properly marked and stored.· Ensuring all parts left over after projects are closed is properly dealt with and returned to inventory if needed.· The kitting of material for each stage of the project as per the work schedule.· Ensuring all processed parts are properly protected and stored as per the job specific requirements.· Use of forklift, crane or other material movement devices in shop in a safe manner at all times.· Actively participate in the maintenance of a clean working environment· Responsible for detailed completion of all required paperwork· Maintain a positive work ethic, supporting other members of the manufacturing team when possible· Follow all related activities identified in the Company quality management systems· Follow, respect and apply all health & safety procedures and guidelines and to keep up to date in safety procedures. Wear proper safety equipment.REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma, post-secondary certificate related to warehousing and logistics an asset· 4 year’s experience in a similar position in the industrial industry· Experience with inventory databases an asset· Good computer skills required· Problem solving and analytical skills to identify problems and find a solution, or seek advice from the supervisor· Self-motivated, responsible, well organized, and reliable· Must be a team player with excellent people skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Ability to perform repetitive, manual material handling without restriction.
