Job Description

Legal Assistant (Labor and Employment Law) We are looking for a legal assistant specialized in labor and employment law for a 12-month maternity leave replacement, on behalf of our client, a recognized law firm. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team and collaborate in a flexible, human-centered environment.What #39;s in it for you:• Annual salary between $60,000 and $70,000, depending on experience.• Position for a 12-month maternity leave replacement, full-time (35 hours per week).• A summer schedule that lets you have Friday afternoons off from July until Labor Day.• Work-life balance, promoting well-being and productivity through a hybrid model.• Mobile leave hours to be used at your convenience throughout the year.• Home office equipment provided, along with a budget to set it up according to your needs.• Accessible management team and a human-centered environment.• Several internal committees, including a social committee responsible for entertaining you and a committee focused on physical and mental well-being.• Casual dress code that allows daily jeans.• Employer-paid group insurance coverage.• Telemedicine service to avoid long waits at the doctor’s office.• For parents of young children, a program that reimburses 50% of ready-to-eat meals from our caterers.• Employee assistance program, because we invest in your well-being.Responsibilities:• Proactively support professionals in managing and following up on their cases.• Coordinate schedules and ensure necessary follow-ups for appointments, meetings, hearings, events, and committees.• Ensure deadlines are met, and follow up on client files and deliverables.• Make reminders and follow-ups with current and potential clients in a professional and courteous manner.• Prepare required documentation for various planned events.• Transcribe dictations, proofread, and correct documents.• Manage file openings and billing.• Prepare expense allocations.• Perform other administrative tasks as needed.What you will need to succeed:• Degree in secretarial studies, legal secretarial studies, or equivalent training.• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in legal secretarial work, ideally in labor and employment law.• Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) to assist lawyers in both languages.• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word (intermediate/advanced level), Outlook, and Excel.• Familiarity with Maître and iManage Work 10 software (an asset).• Excellent client orientation, courtesy, and professionalism.• Responsibility, attention to detail, and good organizational skills.• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize effectively.• Team spirit and a sense of initiative.Why Recruit ActionRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2000003) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach to job seekers and businesses.
