OPEN POSITION: Our Railcars Maintenance shop located at 9300 Boulevard Maurice Duplessis in Montreal is looking for individuals for a Valve Specialist position. The Valve Specialist is responsible for the reconditioning and regular maintenance of valves to ensure they are functioning properly. Dismantle, assemble, and perform advanced troubleshooting activities on valves in accordance with applicable procedures. This role doesn #39;t require experience in Rail or related activities, GATX will be providing all necessary training to safely and successfully complete all essential tasks.GATX OFFERS EXCELLENT BENEFITS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Be able to troubleshoot, test, clean, disassemble and assemble valves;
  • Test, install, renew and/or repair rail car valves and hoses including acid car safety hoses, high and low pressure dome hoses, etc.
  • Perform flaring work while wearing all necessary personal protective equipment;
  • Drill and tap holes to remove valves
  • Perform non-destructive testing on different types of parts including newly purchased parts
  • Properly generate and maintain data related to valve inspection results
  • Follow all NDE and quality procedures;
  • Be up to date on customer regulations and GATX procedural standards as required.
  • Correctly document the data related to the valves,
  • follow the work instructions and GATX technical sheets
  • Maintain an orderly workplace
  • Comply with established health/safety policies, support ongoing awareness, where possible, recommend specific changes and improvements to health and safety policies and programs.
LES TÂCHES ET RESPONSABILITÉS ESSENTIELLES comprennent notamment les suivantes:
  • Être capable de dépanner, d’effectuer des mis en essai, de nettoyer, de démonter et d’assembler les valves;
  • Tester, installer, renouveler et/ou réparer les valves et les tuyaux des wagons incluant les tuyaux de sécurité des wagons d’acide, les tuyaux à dômes de haute et basse pression, etc...
  • Effectuer des travaux de brûlage à la torche tout en portant tout l #39;équipement de protection individuelle nécessaire ;
  • Percer et tarauder des trous pour démonter les valves
  • Effectuer des tests non -destructifs sur différents types de pièces y compris les pièces achetées
  • Générer et maintenir d’une manière appropriée les résultats d’inspection des valves
  • Suivre tous les procédures NDE et qualité ;
  • Être à jour sur les règlementations des clients, des standards de procédures de GATX tel que requis.
  • Documenter correctement les données reliées aux valves, suivre les instructions de travail et les fiches techniques de GATX
  • Maintenir un milieu de travail en bon ordre
  • Se conformer aux politiques de santé/ sécurité établies, soutenir une sensibilisation continue, si possible, recommander des changements et des améliorations spécifiques aux politiques et programmes de santé et de sécurité.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (including certifications):
  • High school diploma combined with 2 to 5 years of experience in railcar repair;
  • Knowledge of NDT processes, have valid NDT certificates or open to taking courses
  • Computer knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to deal with changes effectively;
  • Dynamically value-oriented and demonstrates a positive attitude;
  • Team spirit Makes good decisions based on a combination of analysis and judgment and initiative
  • Be proactive with regard to quality with corrective actions as objectives.

ÉDUCATION ET / OU EXPÉRIENCEamp; HABILITÉS COMPORTEMENTALLES AUTRES QUE TECHNIQUES:
  • Diplôme d’études secondaires jumelé avec 2 à 5 ans d’expérience en réparation de wagons;
  • Connaissance des procédés NDT, être doté de certificats valides NDT ou ouvert à prendre les cours
  • Connaissances en informatiques
  • Bonnes aptitudes de communication verbales et écrites.
  • Capable de suivre les instructions verbales et écrites
  • Capacité de faire face aux changements de manière efficace ;
  • Axé de manière dynamique sur la valeur et démontre une attitude positive;
