PURPOSE:Kitco Media encompasses Kitco News, Kitco Mining and Kitco Crypto, and other digital initiatives. Recognized globally as the leading source of precious metals, commodities, crypto, and financial news, the brand reaches 3.5 million+ unique visitors, 116 million+ pageviews, and 6 million monthly video views across web, mobile apps, YouTube, and OTT platforms. Kitco News #39; mission is to empower investors with accurate, unbiased, round-the-clock coverage and expert analysis of global markets.Reporting to the Media Director, the Video News Producer drives the planning, creation, and delivery of all Kitco News video content. You own the production schedule, coordinate talent and resources, and ensure every segment meets Kitco #39;s editorial standards and audience goals. This role requires a strong blend of traditional journalism skills and modern digital media expertise, with a particular emphasis on social media strategy and audience engagement.Although the position is producer-focused, you may occasionally anchor or conduct on-camera interviews when required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Productionamp; Editorial:

• Act as gatekeeper of the Newsamp; Commentaries video production calendar, working closely with anchors, commentators, editors, and designers.
• Develop and maintain a broad network of financiers, analysts, policymakers, mining executives, and industry experts for interviews.
• Lead pre-production: draft rundowns, research topics, write interview questions, and secure graphics and data.
• Oversee production day logistics, including studio, remote feeds,call sheets, and technical checks with the video production team.
• Edit video, copy, headlines, and metadata for clarity, SEO, brand, legal compliance, and style.
• Maintain a contingency plan for breaking news and ensure rapid content turnaround.
• Manage media conference coverage: plan interviews, coordinate travel, oversee booths/graphics, and execute sponsorship deliverables.

Digital Distributionamp; Social Media:

• Publish and optimize videos across Kitco platforms and third-party channels (e.g., YouTube, Rumble, TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn), including descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and platform-specific formatting.
• Create and implement social media strategies to maximize video reach across all platforms, understanding each platform #39;s unique algorithm and audience behavior.
• Develop platform-specific content variations (e.g., vertical videos for TikTok/Reels, short clips for Twitter/X, professional cuts for LinkedIn).
• Monitor real-time analytics across all platforms; adjust line-ups, formats, and posting schedules to maximize reach and retention.
• Collaborate with the social media team to adapt video clips for each platform and drive engagement through strategic hashtags, captions, and community management.
• Track trending topics and viral formats to inform content creation and capitalize on social media moments.
• Implement A/B testing strategies for thumbnails, titles, and posting times to optimize performance.

Innovationamp; Growth:

• Generate innovative features such as polls, interactive elements, live streams, and new series to expand audience demographics.
• Experiment with emerging video formats and platforms (e.g., YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories, live audio rooms).
• Partner with Product Managers and Sales to launch special projects, newsletters, and new web technologies.
• Develop data-driven content strategies to grow Kitco News audiences and broaden demographic reach.
• Create and maintain a content calendar that balances evergreen content with timely news coverage.

Technicalamp; Administrative:

• Assess and prioritize incoming website update requests; resource developers, reporters, and designers as needed to meet deadlines.
• Maintain video archive and asset management systems.
• Track and report on key performance metrics and ROI of video content.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support Kitco #39;s media strategy.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Core Requirements:

• Solid background in finance, business, or commodities news; digital video experience is essential.
• Three+ years of producing, writing, or news gathering in a broadcast or digital newsroom.
• Mastery of writing, copy editing, and headline crafting (AP Style).
• Strong CMS and non-linear video editing skills.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work quickly and under deadline pressure.
• Sharp editorial judgment and the agility to pivot during breaking news.

Social Mediaamp; Digital Expertise:

• Demonstrated expertise in social media content creation and distribution across multiple platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook).
• Deep understanding of social media algorithms, best practices, and platform-specific content optimization.
• Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., YouTube Analytics, Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
• Track record of growing social media followings and engagement rates.
• Knowledge of current social media trends, memes, and viral content formats.
• Experience with live streaming and real-time social media coverage.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced video editing proficiency (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
• Experience with motion graphics and basic animation (After Effects is a plus).
• Familiarity with streaming software (OBS, Wirecast, or similar).
• Understanding of video codecs, compression, and platform-specific technical requirements.
• Basic photography and audio recording skills.

• 3+ years in digital media and video journalism, with at least 1 year focused on social media video content.
• Portfolio demonstrating successful video content across multiple platforms.
• Firm grasp of journalism ethics and legal considerations.
• Understanding of financial markets, commodities, and cryptocurrency.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and video platform optimization.
• Familiarity with content monetization strategies across platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal English required.
• Additional languages are a plus, particularly for international market coverage.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):
