Job Description

As an Animation Artistic Director, you will be in charge of establishing the vision and guidelines for the animation of all the characters in the game. You will work in collaboration with other professions in the team in order to offer players a unique gaming experience.Joining our partner means taking a foundational role at a new video game studio, creating a fresh take on a multiplayer online battle arena game (Yes, a MOBA), and collaborating on a team of well-rounded experts who have a great time working together. Come build the future!RequirementsBasic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of animation experience for AAA games
  • 5+ years in a leadership position
  • Portfolio illustrating a range of styles, creativity and skills, particularly demonstrating proficiency in animating humanoid bipeds, quadrupeds and other creatures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English; due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Unreal is a strong asset
  • Strong communication skills: able to explain conceptual ideas in an accessible and understandable way
  • The ability to give constructive feedback and to transmit an artistic direction and make it a shared objective
Responsibilities
  • Create animation prototypes and other benchmark assets;
  • Act as the main point of communication between animators and all other teams;
  • Provide guidance during creative discussions with design and art leadership;
  • Manage a team of animators, direct project planning and ensure artistic quality while respecting deadlines;
  • Collaborate with production to ensure schedules and plans meet production needs;
  • Drive process and pipeline improvements;
  • Provide animation direction to ensure that the quality of the work is consistent with the vision of the artistic director;
  • Identify, mentor, develop, and support animation talent and team;
  • Collaborate effectively with production, design, engineering and other artistic departments.
