Job Description

Gannett Fleming Canada is looking for an experienced construction management professional for the role of Construction Project Manager to join our team in Montreal. The Construction Project Manager will assist in the supervision of transit facilities construction projects for our Clients.The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in the contract administration and review of the Contractor’s proposed work methodologies to ensure that the requirements of the Contract Documents are being fulfilled in a safe manner and that quality work is not compromised.Our construction management and inspection capabilities satisfy the most selective clients. We effectively control our clients’ costs, deliver their projects on time, and meet strict regulatory needs while maintaining long-lasting relationships from the pre-construction stage until long after project completion.Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and review work materials and construction methods to ensure requirements of contract documents are fulfilled in a safe manner with required quality.
  • Produce daily/weekly reports for active construction contracts as well as other standard construction administration documents
  • Issue contract deficiency reports and nonconformance reports including follow-up on required corrective actions.
  • Observe, act, and report on contractual and non-contractual infractions of safety, security, operational interference of the client’s services and operations.
  • Provide inspection expertise in structural, civil, architectural, roofing, mechanical, or electrical disciplines, follow up with technical discipline leads when required.
  • Liaise between Contractor, client staff, utility companies, local municipalities, and other external agencies.
  • Monitor all aspects of the construction work activities including environmental compliance and recording of progress and as constructed details for the purposes of project closeout.
  • Assist the client in reviews of Contractor claims, schedule compliance and proposed work methodologies.
  • Undertake compliance audits and provide reports to the Client.
  • Observe commissioning and handover of infrastructure to ensure all contract requirements are fulfilled.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering field or combination of education and experience and other related field.
  • P.Engineer- Civil infrastructure, OTPQ required
  • Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) status is an asset
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years in construction management and contract administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising construction sites, field engineering, site work inspections and work progress measurements.
  • Demonstrated on-site construction inspection experience in construction of transit, commercial and municipal infrastructure.
  • Experience with Design Build, P3 and AFP Construction Contracts.
  • Experience with reviewing contractor claims regarding cost and schedule.
  • Experience in reviewing contractor submittals and work methodologies.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and reporting.
  • Must be comfortable in both a professional office and field work environments.
  • Proficient in MS Word / Excel / Outlook.
  • Knowledge of pertinent Federal, Provincial, and local laws, codes, and standards.
  • Proven understanding of industry standards within construction, Health and Safety codes and regulations.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
