Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Finance Department’s primary collective function is managing cash flow in and out of MSC Canada. Ultimately reporting all numbers back to Geneva, the Finance Department collects and accurately inputs outstanding customer invoices while processing and paying our vendors in an efficient and cost-effective manner.The Financial Reporting Representative is responsible for the accuracy of cost provisioning, and additional supporting analysis. Actual to provisional analysis will need to be reported to Head-Office within the respective timeframe with variances explained.

  • Vessel provisions are entered on a timely basis with minimal discrepancy vs. actual disbursement.
  • Verify data and information consistency in all reported data.
  • Analyze disbursement reports and provide explanations for highlighted discrepancies.
  • Communicate regularly with Head-office Cost Control Department on all aspects of reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with partnering departments such as logistics, terminal and vessel operations.
  • Support and work collaboratively with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Assist with financial analysis supporting operational teams including all vessel, terminal and logistics.
  • Assist with the identification and investigation of vessel cost variances to plan and present findings to finance and operational leadership, including proactively identifying risksamp; opportunities.
  • Assist Cost Control Manager with any request related to the area.
