Our IT estate is the bedrock of our ability to deliver great quality to our customers quickly, efficiently, and securely. We are now recruiting for an IT Manager to provide the human connection between our IT infrastructure and the Product/Development/Support teams. You will provide hands-on infrastructure and DevOps support, leadership, and innovation for a team of industry experts and software engineers . You will be working with teams all around the world. Some travel may be required to our data centres in Canada and in the USA. This position requires 10+ years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining of remote IT infrastructure in hosted datacenters, and extensive experience working with cross-functional development teams and customer support. A willingness and ability to work with a variety of different characters and personalities is vital. The role of the IT Manager is to ensure the stable operation, ongoing support, and planning of new and existing IT infrastructure in a virtualized Windows and Azure environments, including storage, security, firewalls, and physical servers. You will also be required to work with, and alongside, other teams to explore solutions to meet the ongoing challenge of providing the best customer experience. You will have experience with scripting languages and be familiar with the concepts of Continuous Integration/Deployment, or open to learning such skills quickly. You will be working closely with our engineers and product managers to accomplish this. Occasional interaction with customers may also be required. What you will do

  • Maintain Windows and Azure environments (covering installation, security, reliability, and updates).
  • Managing services of servers, including peripherals, e-mail, printing, databases, backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
  • Troubleshooting issues, researching possible solutions, and implementing those solutions.
  • Documenting problems, procedures and technical how-to.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues.
  • Ensuring server performance is optimal, and that appropriate monitoring and alerting is in place.
  • Planning for growth and continuous improvement of existing environments to meet capacity and stability needs.
  • Maintaining and executing an infrastructure roadmap as technology evolves.
  • Partner with Development in implementing a CI/CD process for multiple environments.
  • Understand the need to work some evenings and weekends to reflect the nature of our industry and geo-dispersed team.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies: Windows Server OS, Windows Client OS 10yrs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies: Windows SQL Server, Group policies, IIS 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform (Endpoint Manager, Azure AD, 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms: vCloud Director 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of networking, firewall and VPN solutions: i.e., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of networking and storage: Cisco, NetApp, QNAP 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), Nutanix 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of backup, DR, and resiliency technologies: Veeam 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of security procedures such as security alert and log reviews 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of identity federation, single sign-on (SSO), SAML and OAUTH technologies 5 yrs.
  • Knowledge of Ping Identity products or other MFA products 5 yrs.
  • Have a high attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Good people and communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex problems in simple language.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and automatization products such as PowerShell.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French.
