One must offer technical expertise to the respective team about the certification processes applicable to the range of products the company offers. The successful individual is responsible for coordinating, guiding, and organizing the team members. One is a key player in the company, stimulating management and effective partnerships between other sectors of the organization, such as Innovation, Operations and Procurement.Principal ResponsibilitiesTeam Management

  • Manage the activities of a team of engineers and scientists.
  • Plan, prioritize, manage, control, and evaluate the activities and operations of the team in accordance with the organization #39;s annual goals.
  • Allocate, coordinate, and verify technical work on an ongoing basis.
  • Be the technical reference for the team in complex situations and technical compliance challenges.
  • Participate in decision-making to support engineers and specialists in sophisticated and problematic situations for internal customer groups and escalate when necessary
  • Know the relevant product codes and standards, including the management of planned or potential revisions affecting the organization #39;s products in their intended applications.
Employee Management
  • Provide one #39;s team with the resources necessary to work effectively.
  • Support team members in their professional development and conduct annual performance reviews
  • Build tools and standardize work methods in the process of continuous improvement for service growth.
Corporate
  • Collaborate with members of management and other departments in project review meetings to identify and take advantage of potential commonalities within the teams.
  • Collect, prioritize, channel, analyze, approve, and assign projects based on the organization #39;s business priorities.
  • Develop and promote the department as a Center of Excellence for Corporate Compliance.
  • Develop and handle the budget for the team.
RequirementsQualificationsamp; Experience
  • Holds a bachelor #39;s degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in Product and Quality Compliance.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years as a people manager.
  • A minimum of 5 -7 years in a Product Compliance environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of close interaction and collaboration in certification files with all the following agencies: CSA, UL, NSF, Intertek and Marines Approval bodies.
  • Proven experience in interpreting, revising and crafting standards developed by Standard Development Organizations (NSF, CSA, ASTM, UL).
  • Have participated in multiple product innovation projects following a strict development process.
  • In-depth knowledge of raw materials and thermoplastic formulations associated with the company #39;s activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in project management and personnel organization.
  • Management of cross-functional teams, direct or indirect interdepartmental projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solver.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite tools.
  • Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Employee will be required to travel 10%-20% of the time. The employee needs to occasionally visit other IPEX locations
