Job Description

As a Technical Animation Director, you set the vision and are responsible for the animation tools, pipelines and technologies that enable animators to bring to life iconic characters and provide players with a unique game experience.Joining our partner means taking a foundational role at a new video game studio, creating a fresh take on a multiplayer online battle arena game (Yes, a MOBA), and collaborating on a team of well-rounded experts who have a great time working together. Come build the future!RequirementsBasic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of combined experience in animation, rigging and programming
  • Exceptional ability to project manage, think backwards, and plan for results
  • Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engineamp; 3D software
  • Excellent verbal, written, and relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in -- French and English; due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the principles of animation
  • Passion for online multiplayer games
Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain an animation pipeline that produces high quality results and maximizes productivity;
  • Create or modify specific tools and scripts to improve the efficiency of animators;
  • Work with animators and developers to create and improve animation systems in the game engine;
  • Prototype and implement procedural animation systems such as cloth, physics and game IK;
  • Ensure the animation systems support game features, customization and attachments;
  • Support and improve the animation pipeline from Maya to the game engine;
  • Increase team skills through mentoring on technical topics.
