Job Description

Job Title: Data Lineage DeveloperJob Location: Montreal, QC (Need Onsite day 1, hybrid 3 days from office)Job Duration: Full Time We are looking for a talented and experienced Fixed Income Data Lineage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, data flow, data governance practices, and metadata cataloging. In this role, candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive data lineage solution that ensures visibility and traceability of data throughout its lifecycle across various systems and platforms. This challenging role requires collaboration with global technical and business teams to ensure that data flows are well-documented, optimized, and auditable, directly contributing to improved data quality, regulatory compliance, and enhanced decision-making through trusted data.Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business processes to understand the current setup and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Map the end-to-end flow of data, identifying sources, transformations, and dependencies.
  • Implement solutions to catalog metadata from diverse data sources.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to integrate lineage metadata for compliance.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to data inconsistencies, lineage discrepancies, or errors in data transformation processes.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data governance, or related fields, with a focus on data lineage and metadata cataloging; fixed income experience is essential.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Perl (must have), Java/.NET/Python (must have).
  • Familiarity with tech stacks including Linux, Autosys, Shell scripts, JSON, and YAML.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to solve complex data flow problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred, but not required:
  • Experience with Collibra.
  • Knowledge of metadata management practices, including the ability to extract and catalog metadata from complex data sources such as SQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, and relational databases.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and their impact on data lineage and governance.
  • Experience working on data modeling and ETL pipelines.
