About This RoleSenior Data ArchitectPosition: Senior Data ArchitectLocation: Montreal, CACompany: CAE Inc.We are seeking a Senior Data Architect. The candidate must be an accomplished and forward-thinking professional to lead the evolution of our data architecture. We need a visionary data architect to shape the future of our data ecosystem in a domain-driven approach. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, robust, and efficient data models and solutions leveraging the Azure stack, Databricks, Kubernetes, containers, and architectural design. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, data platform architects and software developers, to ensure the successful delivery of data-driven projects.Responsibilities:1. Technological Leadership:

• Spearhead the development of modern data design and modeling strategies, employing a rich toolkit including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Lead the architectural vision, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and future scalability.

2. Innovative Data Design:

• Drive the modernization of data design and modeling, leveraging tools like ER/Studio, Erwin, and Lucidchart to visualize and optimize data structures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement innovative, agile, and scalable data solutions.

3. Key Technologies Integration:

• Harness the power of Azure services such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Data Lake Storage to design and implement advanced data solutions.
• Seamlessly integrate OpenAI technologies for natural language processing, ensuring our architecture stays at the forefront of innovation.

4. Programming Languages Proficiency:

• Utilize your proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL to develop and optimize data pipelines, ensuring efficiency and performance.

5. Data Governance and Compliance Mastery:

• Establish and enforce robust data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Implement metadata management strategies for effective data lineage and quality tracking.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, employing collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack to facilitate communication and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Communicate complex data concepts and architectural decisions effectively using visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

7. Mentorship and Team Collaboration:

• Mentor a team of data architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
• Implement version control systems like Git for collaborative development and ensure best practices in code reviews.

8. Data Governance and Security Mastery:

• Define and enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance and integrity in an AI-centric environment.
• Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and uphold privacy standards.

9. Optimized Performance:

• Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval, utilizing Azure and Databricks for maximum efficiency.
• Conduct performance tuning and monitoring, addressing bottlenecks in the design and architecture.

10. Collaboration and Innovation:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technically advanced solutions.
• Foster a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what #39;s possible in AI and data architecture.

11. Leadership in Data Product Industrialization:

• Provide technical leadership in the industrialization of Data Products, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Mentor a team of data engineers and architects, driving excellence in design and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, AI, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Data Platform Architect or a similar role.
• Proven experience as a Data Platform Architect with a focus on industrializing AI Data Products.
• In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, and database design.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or relevant to data engineering.
• Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Advanced knowledge and experience with the Azure stack, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data platforms and solutions using cloud technologies.
• Strong expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks, MLOps, and AI model architectural design.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in Azure, data engineering, or machine learning (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Azure AI Engineer) are a plus.
