Job Description

Nuovo Artistic Photography is a premier semi-nude photography studio that operates a collective of studios across North America. Nuovo is redefining personal empowerment through artistic photography.We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This strategic position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is instrumental in managing, optimizing, and enhancing our financial systems and processes. As the Financial Controller, you will take a proactive role in the budget process, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and provide crucial insights to guide the company #39;s financial decisions. Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of financial plans, forecasts, and detailed annual and monthly budgets to drive strategic decision-making.- Manage and optimize the entire budget process, including variance analysis and budget-to-actual reporting.- Assess current accounting operations, identify areas for process improvement, and implement new efficiencies.- Oversee and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a robust control environment.- Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting by coordinating the preparation of internal and external financial statements.- Collaborate closely with external auditors, preparing all necessary documentation for annual audits.- Spearhead regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance, with a focus on strategic cost management.- Develop and monitor key business performance metrics, providing management with insights critical to decision-making.- Evaluate and recommend updates to accounting software and database management systems, as needed.- Manage the consolidation of financial data for a comprehensive view of the company’s financial health.RequirementsCandidate Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.- CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller role.- Experience working with startups or rapidly growing companies is a strong asset.- Advanced knowledge of IT systems, financial management, accounting, taxation principles, and internal controls specific to dynamic, growing businesses.- Demonstrated flexibility to work alongside the CEO as needed for key financial tasks.Preferred Skillsamp; Attributes:- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and implement positive financial changes.- Proven track record of recognizing and executing efficiency opportunities.- Experience working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.- Bilingual in English and French (Spanish is an asset).- Skilled in strategic financial planning and project management.BenefitsWhy Join Us- Comprehensive Benefits Package – Life, dental, spousal, and more.- Career Growth Opportunities – We’re expanding, and you’ll have room to grow with us.- Employee Referral Program – Share our mission with others and be rewarded.- Prime Location – Enjoy our HQ in the vibrant Old Port of Montreal, steps away from the canal waterfront.Important: This is not a remote position.
