Job Description for Medical Office Assistant Position at Moose Creek Medical CentreResponsibilities will include:· Scheduling and coordinating appointments· Welcoming and checking-in patients· Answering phone calls and managing voicemail· Directing patients into examination rooms· Completing basic clinical tasks (i.e. recording patient height and weight)· Creating and updating electronic health records· Documenting patient encounters (i.e. phone calls, etc.) on the EMR· (Practice Solution Suites)· Assisting in the preparation of referrals to specialists· Keeping track of outstanding referrals· Communicating with patients and other healthcare providers· Tracking down missing lab and imaging results (i.e. communicating with lab and imaging services)· Assisting with OHIP billing as required· Keeping track of inventory and reordering office and medical supplies· Keeping examination rooms tidy and clean throughout the day· Other similar tasks, as requiredThe ideal candidate will have:· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate with patients, physicians, other staff in both English and French· Appropriate time management and organizational skills· Attention to detail· The ability to multitask· The ability to maintain a clean work environment· Excellent compute proficiency, and prior experience with electronic health records (experience with PS suites would be beneficial)· The ability to maintain patient confidentialityContract length: 12 monthsPart-time hours: 25-30 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, ContractSalary: $18.00-$24.00 per hourAdditional pay:
