We are currently seeking one Land Survey Resource Summer Student.About Our OpportunityNeed a summer job but don’t want to spend all day behind a desk inside Come work for us and join an exciting team of survey professionals and technicians working on land surveying projects throughout the Eastern Region!Primary AccountabilitiesAs a Land Survey Resource Worker with Natural Resources and Renewables, you will assist us with our ongoing program to establish crown land boundaries. You will work with a survey crew in searching and collecting survey evidence and marking crown boundary lines and corners. You will be responsible for searching title to land being investigated, interpreting occupation and ownership evidence on aerial photography, satellite imagery and existing Crown Land Grant mapping. You will be required to work in the field the majority of the time looking for field evidence and collecting coordinates using RTK GPS. You will provide timely, efficient and accurate information and support to existing staff on a variety of natural resource matters. Some independent surveying field work and office work may be required.Qualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you are a full-time university or college student in the field of Surveying or Geomatics who is returning to study in the fall (or in the next applicable semester for the education program). Proof of returning to studies may be required.You demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills and problem-solving ability. You are capable of conducting land surveying field and office work, both independently and as part of a team.You have a good working knowledge of computers and are familiar with applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.The following are considered assets:
