Job Description

We are currently seeking a full time Human Resources Manager to join our team in Nakina. This position offers 40 hours per week with hours from 7:00 AM to 4:30PM, Monday to Friday.Job Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for facilitating the processes required to maintain a healthy and capable workforce to fulfill employee requirements.Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruitment, including creation and management of job advertisements
  • Hiring, including evaluating candidates, preliminary interviews, reference checks, facilitating of interviews with managers, creation and management of job offers, and orientation of new employees
  • Work with external payroll to facilitate biweekly payment of employees, including verifying hours reported with attendance records.
  • Manage employee benefits, including group insurance, retirement savings plan, and personal protective equipment (PPE) allowances
  • Assist employees with questions regarding payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Maintain employee records
  • Maintain vacation schedule
  • Assist managers in employee reviews, including scheduling of periodic employee reviews, providing performance metrics.
  • Assist managers in navigating difficult situations with employees
  • Maintain human resource metrics, including attendance rates, and turnover rate
  • Work with management to foster a healthy work environment and positive company culture, including employee feedback, industry initiatives, exit interviews, etc.
  • Liaise with employment related organizations such as, Statistics Canada, Employment Insurance, Workers Compensation Board, MOL, etc.
  • Participate in weekly Management Meetings
  • Participate in JH&SC meetings
  • Review and maintain SOP/Lockout procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in human resources role
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Education in Health & Safety, Human Resources, or similar program would be an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial employment standard and relevant legislation would be an asset
