Garnons Williams Ltd. is an agency that provides residential group homes and day programs for adults with both physical and developmental challenges.We have four group homes, all in Nanaimo and two day programs, one in Nanaimo and another day program in Parksville. Adult residential services are provided in a safe and healthy environment. Day programs and Self Help Skills programs offer a variety of recreational and educational activities in the community. Our goal is to fully integrate individuals into their community.The starting wage is $21.63/hr. Every 2000 hours there is a wage increase.The position is average 34.5 hours/week, which means some weeks are 40 hrs and some are 34.5. The shifts are 1-9, 4-12 (weekdays) or 4-12 or 4-9 (weekends).The rotation is 4 days on and 2 days off, evening shifts only. Additional hours are available by submitting an availability.After 3 months you will be enrolled in a full benefit package and earn paid sick time. After 6 months you earn paid vacation time.Residential Care Worker Job Summary:· To provide care and support to the clients in all aspects of personal, physical, medical, emotional, financial, social, leisure and cultural needs in a safe and comfortable manner.· To actively participate in maintaining positive communication lines, among co - workers, managers, employer, community and other professionals.· To have the abilities and skills necessary to work as a team player.· To maintain the upkeep of the household and its properties including the vehicles, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.Job Requirements:· 19 years of age or older· Education or experience in health care or community support is an asset, but not mandatory.· Current First Aid certificate with CPR· Ability to obtain a Class 4 drivers license within 3-6 months.· Clean criminal record check (new one obtained upon hire)· Recent TB test (within two years)· Hepatitis B inoculations (or waiver can be provided)COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory.Job Types: Part-time, PermanentPart-time hours: 34.5 per weekSalary: $21.63 per hourBenefits:
