  • Be fully trained in the operations and capability of a running an Asphalt plant ideally Astec
  • Run mixing operations on the plant in order to ensure material quality and compliance with specifications
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach include scaling, ticketing and assist in asphalt orders
  • Communicate and promote safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with Company standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner
  • Monitor operational effectiveness through analysis of Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure consistent production to meet daily orders
  • May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting
  • Complete daily checklist, journal and reports
  • Offload hot asphalt oil
  • Continuously communicate with plant operators, truckers, quality control and dispatch
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork
  • Seek out and implement Best Practices
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and plants including keeping accurate and thorough records of plant performance and production
Qualifications:Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Asphalt operations/production-related experience.
  • Heavy machinery / equipment experience
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and Astec, Apex, SAP systems
Environment:
  • All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)
  • Monitor by daily completion of Plant check-list
Safety:
  • Contribute toward the overall success of the safety program by following set rules procedures and practices
  • Identify and report workplace hazards and make positive suggestions for their elimination or control
  • Generally, perform duties in the safest manner prescribed
  • Required PPE must be worn at all times
Schedule:
  • This position will require weekend work and may include night shifts. The position often requires overtime and working in all types of climate
