Overview TERMINAL SERVICES AGENT Nanaimo Harbour Casual You are enthusiastic, reliable, and customer focused. You calculate and process fares, and reservations. You assist customers with fare, schedule and procedural information; resolving and or referring to appropriate resources as required.You can multi-task and communicate effectively. You direct traffic during loading/unloading procedures; maintain terminal buildings and grounds; communicate with other shipboard and terminal staff to ensure the safe and efficient loading and discharge of vessel traffic; respond to passenger queries; inspect berths, ramps and docks; and complete required paperwork and record keeping, including accurate vehicle and passenger counts. You provide on the road traffic control and also direct traffic in and around the terminal during times of busy traffic. You have the confidence and ability to work individually. You take pride in your work, and are committed to following safe work procedures by inspecting and performing routine maintenance of terminal facilities and equipment, including minor painting and identifying and taking appropriate action to address repairs or deficiencies.You stay up-to-date on Corporate policies, and operational directives; and perform various administrative support tasks including updating files; communicating with other terminals and Corporate offices; completing inspection reports; answering the telephone and troubleshooting of routine computer problems.You will participate in safety drills, secure terminal at closing; identifying situations which may present a safety hazard on the vessel; conducting rounds of the terminals and reporting any security breaches or unusual activity.QUALIFICATIONS:Cash handling experience Valid BC Driver’s License Strong verbal and written communication skills May be required to lift up to 50 lbs as part of job function Ability to work well under pressureamp; coordinate multiple tasks concurrently Ability to do a variety of cleaning and landscaping duties; including using power equipmentJoin us!
