Your Opportunity:Under the direction of the Recreation Therapist and under the general supervision of the Manager, working to enrich the lives of the residents in Supportive Living by providing the support and assistance implementing recreation activities. Performs interventions under the direction of and as delegated by the Recreation Therapist in accordance with established standards and procedures of the Recreation Therapy Department. Provides a broad range of individual and group activities that are developed to meet the residents needs under the guidance of the Recreation Therapist. Drives the Handibus when required for community outings. Assists residents in getting ready for community outings when off site. Works collaboratively with other staff, families, and volunteers. Assists residents with toileting and personal care as required when off site. Note Nanton is 70 km south of Calgary. Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, equipment inventory and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient (client, resident) healthy living, self-care independence and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. Well-developed time management skills. Ability to handle the physical demands of the position.Preferred Qualifications:Health Care Aide certification or equivalent an asset.
