Job Description

Our ever- expanding footprint provides a great prospect for career advancement as we seek to develop our emerging leaders.The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of the afternoon production shift within the plant.Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of afternoon production crews ensuring manufacturing is being done in a safe and productive manner.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Verifies that there is sufficient stock on hand to meet production requirements and requisitions inventory from various production yards when needed.
  • Interprets customer specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Interfaces with sales department to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and end targets.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, environmental requirements, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program.
  • Assists in the inspection of Poleamp; Lumber trucks with the shipper/receiver to verify priorities and proper completion of shipping/receiving logs
  • Checks kiln operations/treating for CCA treated pole orders
  • Places orders with the Production Manager or Manager, Plant Maintenance for any equipment or tools needed in production areas as required
  • Supports the plant H amp;S program through safe and efficient MOEQ Trainingamp; Supervision
  • Keep team educated, engaged and encourages good and safe behaviour.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • H amp;S focused production mentality
  • Demonstrated problem solving, prioritization and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations

  • Ability to:
  • Train, motivate and coach employees
  • Maintain composure and work effectively under pressure
  • Take direction
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
