Job Description

Position Title: Office AdministratorLocation: Nelson, KCDS HeadquartersPosting Date: May 16, 2022Expiry Date: Open until filledBe part of a dynamic team committed to making a positive difference in our communities! KCDS, voted one of the Best Places to Work in Canada for 4 consecutive years, provides employment and career development services in Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Slocan, Salmo, and Kaslo.We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with exceptional communication and organizational skills and who thrives on providing outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders.The OpportunityThe Office Administrator is primarily responsible for reception at KCDS headquarters including greeting visitors, receiving and ordering supplies, and supporting the team at our Baker St. office. From time to time, the Office Administrator fills in for other admin positions as needed.The Office Administrator is adept at working independently and as part of a team with the ability to identify when direction is needed and respond easily to new assignments.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing reception and office administrative support at KCDS’ headquarters in Nelson
  • Processing receipt of all goods and supplies at headquarters and coordinating delivery of inter-office packages between three satellite locations
  • Central ordering of office supplies for all office locations
  • Processing all purchase requisitions including data entry with proper general ledger coding
  • Serving as backup for vacation coverage in other admin areas
  • Assisting with process document creation and electronic filing where possible
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDSkills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to develop and maintain a respectful, collaborative and productive relationship with clients and colleagues
  • Highly proficient with computers, equipment and technology used perform administrative tasks
  • Accurate, thorough and timely with data entry and file management tasks
  • Able to adapt productively to changes in workflow and operational priorities in the work environment
  • Demonstrates excellent organization, time-management, administrative and computer skills
  • Proficient at working independently and enjoys being part of a highly collaborative team
Education and Experience
  • Office Administration certificate or diploma, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Past experience working with accounting software is an asset
  • Experience providing financial and/or administrative support services
  • Prior experience working in related government agencies, social service agencies or with government contracts is an asset
Additional requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Must consent to a Criminal Record Check as required
  • Travel to other service locations may occasionally be required
