About Us: The John Howard Society of Nova Scotia has been actively serving our communities since 1950. Our mission is effective, just and humane responses to the causes and consequences of crime. We work collaboratively with clients, government and community agencies to support individuals and families who have come into conflict with the law or who are at risk of becoming involved with the criminal justice system. Our core activities include direct service provision, community education, research and resource development and advocacy. We seek capable, dedicated people to join our team and engage in this exciting and rewarding work.We are recruiting for our North Eastern Regional Office’s team. The North Eastern Regional Office delivers a wide array of supports and services with particular focus on the delivery of the Nova Scotia Restorative Justice Program in Pictou, Antigonish and Guysborough CountiesWe encourage applications from community members of diverse backgrounds, including individuals of BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) and the LGBTQ2S+ community. Applicants are encouraged to self‐identify.Additionally, JHSNS values lived experience, including past interactions with the criminal justice system. A criminal record does not necessarily rule out someone from eligibility, and we encourage those with lived experience to apply.Reports To: DirectorThe Administrative/Restorative Justice Caseworker, holds an essential role in The John Howard Society North East Regional office and:
