Job Description

The Resource Development Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director. This individual shall perform duties as assigned and approved by the Executive Director. These duties will be consistent with the Organizational and Delivery Standards as set by Big Brothers & Sisters of Canada in conjunction with local policies.Position Summary: The Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Executive Director with developing, coordinating, and implementing BBBSPC annual fundraising program to increase donor base, revenue and support of donors, corporate sponsors, and the community.He/she will assist the Executive Director with the development, implementation and execution of the communications plan including social media to build community relations and increase donor engagement. In addition, the Resource Development Coordinator will develop, plan, and implement marketing strategies for major events.ResponsibilitiesFUND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Work with the Executive Director to devise a strategy to increase the donor base of BBBSOFPC
  • Assist Executive Director with grant proposals.
  • Chair Fundraising and Marketing Team Meetings - including agenda preparation and action item follow up.
  • Responsible for managing Donor platform database and maintenance of data accuracy.
  • Compile, maintain and report on fund development campaign statistics.
  • Develop, design, and execute monthly e-newsletter and bi-annual newsletter for donors and stakeholders.
  • Create and execute an effective stewardship and recognition program for donors.
  • Manage supplier/vendor relationships as they apply to the execution of each event.
  • Assist with the solicitation of sponsorship, and where applicable, table and ticket sales
  • Set up and tear down of all events
  • Provide admin support to Committee Members and the Board of Directors, as required, related to event fundraising.
COMMUNICATIONS:
  • Develop ongoing communications strategy and execute plan to increase social media presence.
  • Work with Service Delivery team with match and activity updates for communications plan and increase awareness of programs to the community.
  • Ability to create new, revitalized social media strategy to grow online presence
  • Continuously monitor and manage all social media channels (twitter, Facebook, Instagram.
  • Create graphic materials for both online and print (may include signs, brochures, corporate pitch-decks and other collateral)
  • Work with team members to create content and graphic material for the website.
  • Support the creation of branded templates for internal/external communications including media kit.
  • Create and send press releases to all local media for all events plus work on program related stories throughout the year to assist with recruitment.
  • Prepare agency newsletter as per schedule
  • Ordering of promotional items to ensure brand recognition
  • Preparing and implementing schedules for all direct marketing campaigns
  • Liaising with local media outlets to create and record ads for campaigns and events.
MAJOR EVENTS:
  • Implement major events with support of team.
  • Develop all event communications and set up of event page database and website.
  • Development of event marketing materials prior to release to ensure alignment to BBBS branding.
  • Develop and execute a marketing and communications strategy and timeline for each major fundraising event to increase revenue and community awareness.
  • Identify and solicit corporate sponsorships.
  • Maintain corporate and in kind sponsor relationship.
  • Identify and recruit event committee members where appropriate.
  • Oversee the pledge invoicing and tax receipt processes.
  • Oversee collection of data from events to increase donor base and reach.
  • Solicits volunteer help with fundraising activities.
  • Contacting major sponsors for events.
  • Obtaining sponsorship prizes.
RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION:
  • Assist in the development of the annual recruitment Plan
  • Oversee the agency's community and recruitment initiatives including displays, speakers, posters and promotional materials, media, and sign rentals.
  • Work with staff to ensure BBBSPC is present at relevant community events and discuss potential recruitment opportunities.
  • Plan an annual recognition event for volunteers
COMMITTEE WORK: (Local and National):The Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting committees formed in order to support the special events, sponsorship, and marketing activities. When appropriate opportunities arise, the Coordinator will participate in national, regional, and local committees.Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a field related to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Minimum three years of special event, fundraising experience, marketing, and public relations.
  • Experience with graphic design and familiarity with software etc. along with experience with website updates.
  • Experience implementing social media and web strategies or campaigns to reach specific audiences
  • Experience writing press releases and recording radio ads.
  • Experience with volunteer recruitment would be an asset.
  • A solid understanding of effective digital marketing techniques and trends and understanding of the needs of a variety of target audiences.
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Project management skills and experience an asset.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a passionate interest in social media and a strong working knowledge of all key social media tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong problem-solving skills, work within a tight timeline and prioritize in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Displays mature judgment, with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships through a collaborative and motivational working style.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office apps
  • Working knowledge of peer-to-peer fundraising platforms and WordPress would be an asset.
  • Ability to work outside customary business hours during periods leading up to and during major events -includes some weekends and evenings
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner with good judgement, tact with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Willingness to undergo a police clearance
