Job Description

Position Title: Territory ManagerPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: New PerthRequisition ID: 14550McCain Fertilizer, a Division of McCain Produce Inc, is a leading distributer of crop inputs, including blended fertilizer, crop protection products and other related inputs, with multiple locations in Atlantic Canada and the State of Maine.We are seeking a results driven leader to join us in a Territory Manager role for our New Perth, PEI Territory. Reporting directly to the General Manager PEI McCain Produce Inc & Fertilizer Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all accounts as well as business development with potential customers.The incumbent will work closely with the farming community to supply technical support in all aspects of good agricultural practices.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • University undergraduate degree or college diploma, preferably in Agriculture or Sciences; P.Ag or CCA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years successful agricultural sales experience.
  • Proven ability to build market share and aggressively grow business in a highly competitive marketplace.
  • Proven ability and experience pro-actively developing new markets and/or business opportunities, to expand existing business and manage key customer relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills required.
  • Ability to succeed working individually or in a small team environment and take on multiple roles and tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Management of existing accounts to determine & execute plans to maximize growth and profitability opportunities.
  • Responsible for business development initiatives to grow the company’s customer list, sales volume and quality of business.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to both existing and newly sourced customers.
  • Creating and maintaining all required records and reports necessary to effectively manage the business.
