Job Description

Merlin Plastics Group is a processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic. We are dedicated and committed to providing environmental services for the packaging industry in an economically efficient, environmentally sound, and socially responsible fashion.Merlin Plastics is looking for experienced machine operators. Machine operators create bales from the recycled material. The process is automated, the operator must make sure the bales are done properly, according to standard procedures.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checking the video control screen to identify when the baling process must start.
  • When the bunker is full, press a button to empty the bunker.
  • Operate and maintain bailing equipment. Start the bailing process using a touch screen panel.
  • Keep records of the weights of the bales for the forklift drivers.
  • Maintains supply of wire in the baler.
  • Writes tags for the bales.
  • Ensure bales are not contaminated when baling, required to clean the bales if contaminated.
  • Clean around baler and wire track for smooth operations of wire system.
  • Fully clean baler inside and out.
Education and Requirements:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Plant and warehouse is considered an asset
  • Able to communicate with other co-workers
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Desire to learn new skills.
  • Positive attitude and takes pride in their work.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
