Job Description

POSITION PURPOSEReporting to the Projects Manager, ITS, and under the guidance and direction of the Senior Application Administrator, is responsible for participating in the analysis, design and implementation of client application initiatives, and assisting in developing the detailed application architecture, implementation strategy and providing solutions to clients and project teams.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in developing and maintaining the Region’s application architecture and standards, ensuring the optimal performance of client server and web based applications. Participates in maintaining the Region’s SharePoint on-premise and Microsoft 365 environment, including security permissions, site provisioning, and the SharePoint Governance plan.
  • Provides second level support of client server and web-based applications used by Regional Departments, with assistance from the Senior Application Administrator, vendors and the Local System Support.
  • Integrates Enterprise Single Sign On with the applications based on federated authentication.
  • Provides consultation services and solutions on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
  • Resolves incidents, including troubleshooting across technologies, or consults with Senior Application Administrator or ITS Branch staff, as appropriate.
  • Determines the most effective way to implement or resolve tasks on service requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet Branch and Departmental objectives.
  • Provides technical assistance in system software installations and upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma program in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience with installing, configuring, and supporting applications in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of web environments, including SharePoint, Project Server, Nintex, and Office 365.
  • Demonstrated experience of application development tools and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office desktop applications and Microsoft Access.
  • Demonstrated experience with installing and supporting JAVA and/or .Net applications.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the use of information technology.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
