One day you will be leading advisory boards and the next day you will be teaching others about the importance of data quality and metadata. Your strong database and ETL skills will ensure that data catalogues, systems and tools are running smoothly. You will guide stewards creating metadata for all of the Region’s data holdings (operational data, warehouse data, dashboards, ETL’s reports etc). You provide support to departments as they apply data quality methods and monitoring to Regional datasets and make recommendations on how to improve the quality of their operational data and their warehoused data. You will liaise with a variety of institutions, external partners and individuals across a range of sectors requesting data and promoting the Region’s data catalogue, data access, open data and data quality processes and initiatives. You will provide subject matter expertise in areas of metadata management, data access and quality processes. You will identify opportunities to enrich our data catalogue, quality tools or open data platform; developing business cases or making presentations as suitable. You will strive to ensure that the best quality data is catalogued with metadata and easily accessible, allowing others to “put data to work” to help shape and serve the growing community in which we live and work.WHAT GETS YOU CONSIDEREDYou have a Bachelor Degree in Information Management, Data Management, or a related discipline, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. You have a minimum 3 years of experience working in the mentioned disciplines and have demonstrated leadership and project management qualities with a positive can-do attitude. You have a proven passion for and experience in metadata management, data access, open data and data quality processes and initiatives. You are proficient in database management techniques (Views, Triggers), extract transform and load tools (SQL, SSIS, FME, R, Python, Alteryx) spatial data (ArcGIS), and visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI). You can communicate well both spoken and written, and use communications tools effectively. Accreditation, such as PMP or PMI is noteworthy but not required, nor is a driver’s license.Quick Apply
