We are a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryThe Procurement Category Manager will focus on Category planning and sourcing activities for Construction, Engineering, and Capital projects across Simplot #39;s various global business and manufacturing locations. He/She will be expected to maintain a continuous portfolio pipeline to drive procurement processes across the assigned category landscape. This includes establishing a long-term, 1-3 year strategic category plan to drive value across the enterprise for the assigned projects and initiatives. This strategy development work is done in partnership with the various business unit stakeholders across all global manufacturing facilities. Category strategies include spend analysis/mapping, external market analysis,quot;should cost quot; analysis, vendor and supply management, and establishing a multi-year project portfolio. He/She will also lead sourcing projects based on the category strategy and on-demand projects from the respective stakeholders.Key Responsibilities- Develops category plan and project portfolio for moderately sized Construction, Engineering, and Operations projects with mid to high-level critically and complexity.- Builds strong stakeholder relationships to prioritize and deliver on portfolio projects.- Manages strategic vendor relationships and performance to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost and supply commitments.- Lead sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract developmentTypical EducationBachelor #39;s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or universityRelevant Experience- 3+ years of experience in a relevant Construction, Engineering, and Capital related category- Knowledge/experience in a commercial/procurement role- 3+ years of experience Category Management and Sourcing activities- Knowledge working in business or functional unit supported by the category- Good sales, presentation, negotiation, and market/data analytic skills- MS Office Suite Proficiency, Ariba experience a plus- Strong communication and relationship building-quot;Should Cost quot; modeling- Experience in corporate capital Procurement process- Procurement construction management experience- Understanding of Procurement project controls and project management tools- Strategic Cost ManagementRequired CertificationsOther Information- Country specific vaccinations as required (medical or religious accommodations will be considered as appropriate)- Domestic and/or International Travel up to 25% as neededJob Requisition ID: 13595Travel Required: Up to 25%Location(s): Simplot Headquarters - Boise, FG Plant - Grand Forks, FG Plant - Moses Lake, FG Plant - Pasco, FG Plant - Portage la PrairieCountry: United StatesWage range or rate of pay: $80-85k, Plus annual incentive plan eligibilityThe compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, and other job-related reasons.Attractive total rewards package that includes:- Medical, dental, vision coverage- 401(k) savings plan- Paid Family Building Leave- Generous Paid Time Off - Eligible employees may accrue up to 160 hours in year 1- 10 Paid Holidays- Relocation Assistance Program (where applicable)- Education AssistanceBenefits details available at simplotbenefits.comThe J.R.
