· Meet regularly with the Aquatics Manager to ensure coordination and conformance with policies, procedures, and Water Park rules are being adhered to.· Assists in maintaining and managing the safe operation of the Water Park in compliance with Provincial health and safety standards and regulations.· Continually assesses and supervises staff to ensure all safety regulations are being enforced.· Ensures staff maintains the most up-to-date and necessary certification requirements.· Ensures accurate and proper documentation of incidents in the Water Park and follows up as required.· Ensures proper testing of associated equipment, attractions and vessels.· Provides general information to the public regarding aquatic operations and Resort amenities.· Responds to guest inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner ensuring a satisfactory resolution.· Monitors inventories and orders required merchandise/supplies as required.· Attends and participates in applicable meets as required.· Ensures receipt of all Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s).· Maintains an orderly, friendly, clean and safe environment for guests, employees and the general public while ensuring the highest level of customer at all times.· Educate the public towards safe and enjoyable aquatics by informing patrons of and enforcing pool rules and health regulations.· Be knowledgeable of facility scheduling, programming and services.· Follow up on any patron inquiries regarding the facility and services.· Know potential pool hazards, watch for weak swimmers, etc.· Be alert and vigilant, ensuring that your designated area receives the best supervision. possible. Keep conversations to a minimum, keeping eyes on the pool even when conversing. Never leave assigned area without relief, except in case of emergency.· Rescues swimmers requiring assistance or in danger of drowning.· Provide emergency care and treatment to guests as required until emergency medical services arrives when necessary.· Keep deck clear of obstructions.· Deny access to individuals with open sores, rashes, evident communicable disease, or who exhibit unsafe behaviour.· Check all lifesaving equipment each day before opening the facility and immediately report any malfunctions to manager or supervisor.· All other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Manager.Professional Qualifications: · Completion of Secondary School· Must possess valid First Aid & CPR certification· Must possess valid NLS certification· Basic literacy in EnglishPersonal Qualities: · Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks.· Detail-oriented.Physical Requirements: · Standing and walking through the majority of the shiftThe Americana Conference Resort & Spa is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes and work environments.
