Located in the heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Since opening its doors in 1967, Niagara College has grown to become a leader in education and training and one of the most enterprising colleges in Canada.Applications are invited for the position of Academic Operations Manager, in the Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies division, located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus. The salary range is $77,520 - $96,900.The Division’s academic programming is organized into three Academic Schools – the School of Culinary Arts, the School of Wine, Beer and Spirits and the School of Hospitality and Tourism. Many of the programs are collaboratively delivered with Niagara College’s unique Learning Enterprises of the Teaching Winery, Teaching Brewery and Teaching Distillery, as well as a Foodservice operation that supports both public-facing academic delivery for culinary and baking students as well as special events.As a member of the Dean’s divisional leadership team, the Academic Operations Manager will work collaboratively to support many of the business functions related to the ongoing daily management of division operations. The incumbent will create and manage annual divisional budgets based on enrolment projections and other revenue streams as directed by the Dean. The incumbent will also oversee other related functions including contract generation and management, procurement processes for major equipment and instructional supplies, and collaboratively provide support and advisement on the fiscal or operational aspects of other academic initiatives as required.This AOM will uniquely manage operations related to food and beverage inventory requirements of this division. Leading a team of approximately 10 part-time and full-time support staff and many semester-based student employees, the AOM will ensure all kitchen, baking, sensory and science teaching labs are staffed, stocked, and prepared for daily academic delivery. This AOM will also manage ongoing maintenance and upgrades to industry-related facilities and specialized laboratories and ensure the division meets all related regulatory and health and safety requirements related to food and beverage services.Qualifications:
