Job Description

DivisionFamily HealthTemporary DurationApproximate Duration: 12 to 18 monthsJob DescriptionTitle: Curriculum Consultant - InternJOB SUMMARYThe intern role is required to work within a multidisciplinary team to develop school health resources, tools and curriculum intended for teachers. This role must ensure there is alignment with the Ontario Curriculum and will provide maximize benefit for classroom teachers and structured to engage students, maximize learning and message retention. The Curriculum Consultant intern will create learning materials and educational instruction that is based on learning objectives, competencies and learner needs.EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Education with Primary, Junior or Intermediate qualifications
  • Health and Physical Education teachable certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE
  • Experience with Ontario’s Health and Physical Education Curriculum
  • Experience with organizing lesson plans and activities for teachers to utilize with their students in a classroom or group setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles and concepts of curriculum development
  • Experience with the development of curriculum and rubrics
  • Knowledge of best practice guidelines applicable to education and health curriculum
  • Knowledge and ability to apply the Foundations for a Healthy School
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
SKILLS
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to efficiently and clearly communicate ideas, including to those who may have a different theoretical background in the area
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ensures accuracy and standardization of all training materials and content
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in teaching and leading workshops
  • French Language Skills an Asset
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be an Ontario Certified Teacher
  • Must be able to work the hours and duration of work outlined which are Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and be flexible to change
  • Possess and maintain a valid and restriction-free driver’s license of appropriate class to carry out the duties of the job.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for travel to various work locations throughout the day
