Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedSummaryMiller Maintenance Limited proudly provides maintenance services on Area Maintenance Contracts for Ontario Ministry of Transportation in all five of the Ministry’s Regions. Our leadership in the Ontario road and highway maintenance industry is based on our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.Main Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance duties on all highway infrastructure as required, including debris control, litter picking, grass cutting and graffiti removal
  • Familiarize with performance requirements in the AMC, including requirements for catch basins, ditch inlets, potholes, grass, etc. and assist the team in making minor repairs to the highway, including pothole repairs, installing small signs, etc.
  • Conduct daily circle checks on vehicles; ensure fuel and other fluid levels are optimum; clean and maintain the vehicle and perform minor repairs
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including hours of service, fuel records, incident reports, time sheets, diaries, logs, etc.
  • Assist with general duties within the shop, lunchroom, washroom, common areas and exterior of yard
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • G or G2 class driver’s license, an asset
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office
  • Ability to lift heavy weights (50 pounds) and work outside in inclement weather conditions
  • Excellent team player to work productively with a highly functional team
  • Flexibility and organizational skills to multi-task and manage time in a fast paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to accurately document daily activities, incident reports and deficiency logs
