Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedAs a Shop Foreperson, You Will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the shop
  • Supervise all shop staff; through mentoring, coaching and accountability, provide leadership to all shop staff to instill a sense of ownership and career satisfaction
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
  • Minimize equipment downtime
  • Implement and follow a cost-effective preventive maintenance program for all equipment and facilities as applicable
  • Work with Parts Department to manage parts inventory; ensure timely and effective acquisition of materials; minimize on-hand inventory
  • Ensure that all shop personnel, equipment, vehicles, and work areas always follow all safety policies and regulations
  • Ensure that the shop and surrounding grounds are clean and always organized
  • Liaise with Operations Supervisors and drivers in a professional and team-oriented manner
  • Maintain all equipment records and files
What Youll Bring:
  • Knowledge of excel and outlook an asset
  • Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  • Heavy Equipment License an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective team player
  • Strong self-management and organizational skills and the ability to work well unsupervised
  • Ability to work extended hours as required
