Job Description

The Workforce Planning & Recruitment Specialist (HIS) will lead multiple work streams across programs (including ICT & HIS, HR functions in the area of recruiting, onboarding and compensation and benefits) with support from the Director, HIS. The incumbent will assist with new hires as it directly relates to the onboarding of external candidates. Duties include, references checks for all external candidates, send for CRC, offering of position, send offer letter, new hire documentation in collaboration with set up documentation session, document new hire, enter into Virtuo HRIS (HR Information System) and complete new hire compensation and benefits process. (e.g. Scan all documents into system)RESPONSIBLITES:Organize and coordinate recruiting process (create ads, manage on-line postings, schedule interviews, administer assessments, extend offers, prepare new hire paperwork)o Responsible for full-cycle recruitment (screening resumes, posting, interviewing, referencing, offers)Organize and implement the onboarding process for new hires (conduct, present and explain benefit offerings, and provide employees with a welcoming and inclusive experience)o Onboarding new employees (new hire documentation, workstation set up)o Assess potential candidates for fit within position (skills, education, competency, culture alignment) (in partnership with HIS team)o Provide employee relations support for employees and managerso Administrative (preparing reports, presentations)QUALIFICATIONS:o Completion of a College diploma specializing in Human Resources or Business Administrationo A minimum of 2 year experience in Human Resources (in healthcare preferable)o Knowledge of Meditech payroll system is preferredo Work experience with a Human Resources Information Systemo Ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environmento Strong computer skills required in all Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)o Evidence of effective organizational, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skillso Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervisiono Consistent and regular attendance requiredo Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asseto Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.Recruitment Specialist: Carrie GarritsenWe are especially interested in connecting if you...Value diversity, equity and inclusion;Are excited about being part of a respectful and hard-working team in the beautiful Region of Niagara;Identify as a member of one or more of the following groups: equity-seeking group, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, persons of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities and all others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.Have background or expertise in the healthcare environment, supporting patient care and providing extraordinary customer-serviceIn accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Niagara Health will provide accommodations through the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities.
