Job Description

Job Summary:We are seeking experienced Structural-Ironworker Journeypersons for our Norman Wells site located in the Northwest Territories. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating structural steel buildings.Responsibilities:

  • Fabricates structural steel buildings, ornamental ironwork, and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects.
  • Studies blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the lay out of work.
  • Installs scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment.
  • Positions steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 years experience in an industrial construction setting.
  • Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Successful candidates are required to have valid drivers license with clean drivers abstract.
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be willing to complete all require pre-access training identified at the time of hire.
Trade Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Structural-Ironworker certification from a recognized provincial training authority.
Work Conditions:
  • Shift Rotation: 15/13.
  • Working 11.5 hours per day.
  • Charter flights from Edmonton are provided. Additional transportation allowance may be provided to eligible employees based on their primary residence being outside of Alberta.
  • Completion Incentives for employees hired prior to November 30th.
  • Camp accommodations provided.
  • Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
