PURPOSE AND SUMMARYUnder the direction of Executive Director, the EDUCATION AND OUTREACH WORKER is responsible for promoting engagement in the First Nations Communities surrounding The Battlefords. Outreach activities occur in schools as well as off-site locations when requested.The EDUCATION AND OUTREACH WORKER works on a variety of projects which further the gender-based violence prevention and early intervention work of Battlefords & Area Sexual Assault Centre.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Teaching BASACS gender-based violence prevention curriculum in schoolsOrganizing, and conducting in-service trainings and workshops for adultsThrough collaboration with community stakeholders the Education and Outreach worker will facility both mens and womens groups.Assisting with developing program materials for volunteers, clients, and community membersParticipating in program data tracking, evaluation and reportingOther education program-related and administrative duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSBA degree or equivalent work experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office ProgramsDemonstrated commitment to public interest work, especially experience working on issues related to gender-based violenceSound judgement, strong interpersonal skills and professionalismAbility to work with diverse groups of peoplePatience, enthusiasm and a positive attitudeSkills And AbilitiesEssential Skills- Reading text- Oral communication- Working with others- Job task planning and organizing- Finding information- Computer useTransportation/Travel Information- Own transportation- Own vehicleCredentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)- Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma- Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma- Human Services Diploma- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)- Cultural Awareness TrainingSpecific Skills- Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community- Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and researchAbility to Supervise- Working groupsSecurity and Safety- Basic security clearance- Criminal record check (abstract)- Child abuse registry checkJob Type: Full-timeSalary: From $23.00 per hourBenefits:
