Land Management Specialist - AGR000707Employment Type: SGEU Term 9 months or moreLocation(s): SK-North West-North BattlefordMinistry: 001 AgricultureSalary Range: $36.698 - $45.986 HourlyGrade: SGEU.11.The Lands Branch with the Ministry of Agriculture has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join their team in the North Battleford office. As a Land Management Specialist, you will work closely with other members of the Crown land regional team managing land dispositions, and assisting clients in obtaining access to Crown land for agricultural and commercial use.You will provide regional leadership in the identification, analysis, development, promotion, implementation, and monitoring of the respective specialist-specific strategies and action plans, ensuring compliance with The Provincial Lands Act and Regulations and Lands Branch Policies. You will also provide comprehensive, in-depth land management technical expertise and will work collaboratively with internal and external agencies to develop regional strategies to leverage research and enhance the province’s competitive advantage.This position will be attractive to individuals who enjoy working with people and using a state of the art computer system to get the job done. You will work with a variety of users including agricultural producers, petroleum and gas companies, and recreational users. You will have many opportunities to mediate solutions to complex land allocation issues.The successful candidate will require knowledge of range management, soil classification, and land valuation. You will be required to accurately reference and interpret acts, regulations, policies, and guidelines to respond to issues of land use. You will need strong interpersonal skills as you deal with colleagues, other agencies, stakeholders and clients to influence and persuade in order to reach a mutually-acceptable or workable solution.Typically, the competencies required for this position would be obtained through completion of a degree in Agriculture.
