Yard Operator/Material Handler Department: ManufacturingReports to: Manager of ManufacturingFull timeJob Summary: Responsible for moving pipe, plate, and structural steel in and out of the shop and yard with large forklift or Volvo front end loader. Organize and maintain yard year-round. Loading and unloading of trucks, as well as general forklift workMain Job Tasks and Responsibilities: · Load and unload material from trucks daily· Emptying garbage bins· General forklift work in shop/yard· Snow clearance/yard maintenance· Manual labor required· All required inspections on equipment· Move incoming deliveries to the warehouse or specific departments· Properly place items for storage and access· Move material to different parts of shop floor and yard as needed· Deliver outgoing materials to the shipping area· Actively participates in the implementation of all safety policies and procedures· Other duties as assignedQualifications· Forklift/Frontend loader certification (Wheel Loader)/experience an asset· Ability to ID different types of steel product· Strong organizational skills· High school diplomaKey competencies· Ability to operate loader, forklift, pallet jacks and other handling equipment· Ability to comprehend detailed instructions orally and in writing in English· Knowledge of steel products such as pipe, plate and Structural· Good organizational skills· Ability to work independently and multitask· Willingness to comply with Safety program - policies and procedures· Good team playerWork Conditions· Fast-paced environment· Manual dexterity· Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.· Working outside daily – all seasonsTecvalco Ltd. is here to support our employees with disability-related needs at any time during employment.
