Provincial Court Case Manager/Judicial Assistant - ADM020665Employment Type: Order-in-CouncilLocation(s): SK-North West-North BattlefordMinistry: 003 JusticeSalary Range: $4,996 - $6,497 MonthlyGrade: MCP.04.PROVINCIAL COURT CASE MANAGER / JUDICIAL ASSISTANT (MANAGEMENT LEVEL 4)NORTH BATTLEFORD PROVINCIAL COURTThe Ministry of Justice has a career opportunity for a conscientious and dependable professional to work as a dual role Case Manager / Judicial Administrative Assistant with the North Battleford Judges’ Chambers in the North Battleford Provincial Court of Saskatchewan. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan. For further information about the Saskatchewan Courts and the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan go to http://www.sasklawcourts.ca/.As a Case Manager, under the direction of the Chief Judge for the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and the Administrative Judge for North Battleford Provincial Court, you will be responsible and accountable for providing effective and efficient scheduling and coordination of all matters that appear before a Provincial Court Judge so that each court appearance is a scheduled, meaningful event. In addition, you will ensure trial and settlement conferences proceed by liaison with legal counsel and litigants, analyze statistics, preside as a justice pursuant to the Criminal Code over appearances prior to trial or disposition, and perform other specified duties as a Justice of the Peace.As a Judicial Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Administrative Judge, three Provincial Court Judges and occasionally to the Chief Judge, and Associate Chief Judge. This position provides receptionist services for the judiciary such as answering inquiries and proofreading confidential and sensitive information. You will also transcribe, format and proofread judgments for Provincial Court Judges in North Battleford and for other Saskatchewan court points, often under tight deadlines; assess, act as liaison, and process requests from the public and/or mental health professionals for Mental Health and Youth Detox Warrants and support the judge to conduct their interview; liaise between the judges and police agencies regarding various Search Warrants and DNA Warrants; and follow up with the parties of any Orders for any information that is insufficient or improper.This position will periodically be called upon to provide backup to other Case Manager and Judicial Assistant positions.The ideal candidate will have developed knowledge and skills through formal training such as a legal assistant course and/or related work experience in a court/legal administrative environment.The successful candidate shall be subject to a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.Salary Range: $4,996-$6,497 (monthly) Appointment will be made by Order in CouncilApplications/Inquiries should be directed to: Deanna Beals, Executive Administrative Assistant Chief Judge’s Office Provincial Court of Saskatchewan dbeals@skprovcourt.caClosing Date: July 20, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.Preference will be given to qualified equity group members who self-declare in this online application, as identified in "diversity groups" belowDiversity Groups: Aboriginal persons, Persons with disabilities, Visible minority persons, Women in management or a non-traditional roleHours of Work: M - Monthly Out of ScopeNumber of Openings: 1Closing Date: Jul 21, 2022, 12:59:00 AMQuick Apply
