Job Description

Job Title: Sanitation TechnicianLocation: Battleford, SKReports to: Plant General MangerKey Relationships: Facilities & Maintenance, Operations and Quality AssuranceRole Purpose/ Summary: Support the sanitation team to ensure cleaning and sanitation protocols are executed in a timely and quality manner in compliance with all SOPs, Safe Work Practices and Good Production Practices.About us: Decibel is uncompromising in the process and craftsmanship needed to deliver the highest quality cannabis products and retail experiences.Decibel has three production houses operating along with its wholly owned retail business, Prairie Records.   • Ensure the facility remains clean, sanitized, and ready for production in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Production Practices.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure production equipment is clean and sanitized prior to use.
  • Follow the Daily, Weekly and Monthly sanitation checklists and document all cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with SOPs.
  • Assume ownership of cleaning and sanitation SOPs and assist in training of other team members in the use of sanitation equipment, chemicals and SOPs.
  • Vacuuming floors, operating floor scrubbers and other equipment as required.
  • Disposing of garbage and replenishing garbage containers with bags.
  • Ensure adequate PPE is stocked throughout the facility.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner and meet the requirements of all safety, Good Production Practices and Cannabis Act regulations.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to maintain an adequate supply of cleaning and sanitation equipment and chemicals.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of cleaning and sanitation equipment and reporting any damaged or unsafe equipment to management.
  • Clean walls, ceiling, doors, trellis’, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years in manufacturing and production operations where
  • Good Production Practices or Good Manufacturing Practices have been applied (or similar experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries).
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 hours per shift)
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes bending, crouching, kneeling while sanitizing equipment as well as humid and/or slippery conditions while cleaning and sanitizing floors.
  • Ability to handle heavy objects including cleaning equipment as well as overhead work cleaning and sanitizing walls and ceilings.
  • Experience operating sanitation equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Experience working safely with cleaning and sanitation chemicals including testing of chemical concentrations.
  • Prior WHMIS experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in high heat and humidity.
