Job Description

G&C Asphalt, a division of NPA Ltd. is seeking a Scale Person to work full time during the 2022 construction season.Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule multiple trucks and drivers to efficient and effective delivery routes, ensuring proper directions, pick up and drop off points are communicated
  • Assist customers (walk in and via phone) with pricing and payment on various products in the pit
  • Scale all material coming into and out of the pit
  • Responsible for a company phone and iPad and recording employees and equipment hours on a daily basis
  • Lead safety meetings and hazard assessments, insuring they are recorded daily on the iPad
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative duties such filing of paperwork, monitor driver progress, process purchase orders and manage driver concerns.
  • Ensure that driver has adequate time to perform their duties safely, while remaining compliant with hours of work regulations
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the companys safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
  • Promote a team approach throughout the organization and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the companys Code of Ethics
  • Other dispatch and scale duties as required.
QualificationsEducation, Training and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Class 5 Drivers License
Technical Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations.
  • Beginner to intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Intermediate computer skills
Working Conditions
  • Overtime as required.
  • Work is primarily performed in an indoor setting and may include a combination of standing, sitting and walking. Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 10 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required within safety sensitive areas.
  • Must comply with all company policies.
  • Must comply with the companys drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals.
